About Me

Michele Kaplan, MS, RD, CDN is a Registered Dietitian and mom of 3, who has combined her passion for cooking and knowledge of nutrition, to create healthy cooking classes for kids ages 6-15+ (with parental supervision). Michele has over 24 years of experience in the field of nutrition. From her early days working in a nursing home, to running the nutrition program at a community health center, private counseling, and many years in corporate wellness, Michele has seen firsthand how good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle sets the stage for success.

Launched in early 2021, HealthyKIDtchen™ was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, which turned the world upside down. As families practiced social distancing and isolation, parents sought out activities that would both stimulate and occupy their children to keep them off their devices. HealthyKIDtchen™ was created to empower kids and their families to make healthy food choices to positively influence body and mind. Getting kids involved in the process of cooking provides them with the tools they need to make smarter food choices. Exposing kids at a young age to these positive behaviors will promote a lifetime of healthy cooking which has a beneficial impact on overall health.

HealthyKIDtchen™ LIVE classes are interactive, educational and FUN! Most recipes are 10 ingredients or less and they can be prepared in 60 minutes or less. Sign up for 5 classes and your 6th class is free! Participants will receive the recipe, a curated shopping list to add the ingredients right to an Amazon shopping cart, and a Zoom link. Kid classes have never been this easy! Each week a new recipe will be featured and a portion of EVERY class will be donated to the charitable organization, No Kids Hungry!
